This is literally every theist I come across. I was just debating today, and I told them they took a verse out of context, and they said, "No I didn't! Read the verse!" Well I'm sorry, but you kind of have to read all the verses surrounding that one for it to make sense. You can't just pick a random verse or line out of a book and try to understand it. You have to read the whole thing.
