Bhang is marijuana based drink consumed in India to honor the god Shiva during the Holi and Vaisakha festivals. Marijuana will help connect you to your spiritual center and reach samadhi and is also used in the medicinal science of Ayurveda to treat vomiting, parasites, diarrhea, general discomfort, help sleep, appetite and pain and is considered a general health tonic. :) You can make your own Bhang and enjoy the benefits of this medi-tonic at your own home! :) The actual drink is made with milk but since almonds are part of the ingredient list anyway, almond milk was an easy substitute for the dairy milk. :) The traditional recipe calls for much grinding with a mortar and pestle making this a meditative and spiritual preparation but blending for most people is meditative and practical. Enjoy! Ingredients: 2 cups water 4 cups Almond milk 1 tsp rose water (rose petals steeped in hot water for 10 minutes or over night) 1 oz marijuana (freshest possible) 1/2 cup honey, sugar or sweetener of choice 2 tbsp almonds 1/8 tsp garam masala Spice to taste: black pepper, cardamom, caraway seed, clove, cinnamon, bay leaf, nutmeg, mace, cumin, coriander, saffron 1/4 tsp. ginger powder or 1 knob fresh 1. Brew marijuana tea by bringing hot water to boil and then steeping marijuana for 10+ minutes in the 2 cups water. 2. Strain and reserve the tea. 3. Blend the boiled marijuana leaves with 1/4 cup almond milk to get a pulp. 4. Add about 1/4 cup more almond milk and the whole almonds and blend again. 5. Either keep blending until everything is nice and smooth or strain through a cheesecloth, nut milk bag (pillow case works too). 6. Blend all the ingredients together. 7. Enjoy slowly, in small quantities (it's got a lot of BANG for your Bhang!) ;)
